Dear experts,

i have encounterd the following error:

For the long time power Failure my database server got improper shutdown . when i open ( restart) the database server i got the above message "ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress"

i waited long time to get initializing even 1 full day.....but
still get the same message. it has been 5 days no improvement.

My database is in "Archieved Mode"

why it happens and whats the solution?



please help me.

type exactly as exists below:
sqlplus
/ as sysdba
shutdown abort
startup
exit
