We are currently running numerous systems on Oracle 9i with forms and reports. One of these systems is an Inventory system.

There is a need to develop a new Purchasing system using Apex.

Apex is also to be run on the above database. However, certain tables used in the Inventory system would be used in the new Purchasing system. Information from these tables would not be updateable, but would mainly be used in list of values etc.
1. Is this possible with Apex?
2. If so how would I refer to a table from the Inventory system (which is outside Apex) in Apex?
3. Do we have to create new users for Apex although they exist in the old system?
4. Can we integrate with the existing security?
