We have a requirement to upgrade the Oracle Client on our 200+ user PCs.
The 8i Client has been installed using a silent install process that was created before I joined the company.
We need/desire to upgrade before the end of the month.
I has a laptop where I can test the uninstall process.
I have taken the silent install, added the -deinstall switch.
But it fails to deinstall anything.
The only message generated is;
The installation of Oracle8i Client was successful,
or;
No products selected for deinstall.

I have tried creating a new response file using the -record switch, but no file is generated.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Delete the Oracle home directory
Delete %SystemDrive%\Program Files\Oracle directory
Delete HKLM\Software\ORACLE registry key

Your response is 100% correct.
But I do not desire going to 100+ machines and doing same.
Are you are trying to tell me that the 8i silent install doesn't work?

8i installer does not uninstall properly (as far I remember). If you can run installer on 100+ machines then you can run a cmd script doing what I said.
