Confused
Dear Gurus,

I am getting really frustrated coz i am trying to do it all by myself without any help. Now, i got to..

1st -- Client sent us the .dmp file.
2nd -- I have created a database "SMEDB" on our local server, also created a user "SMEP"
3rd -- Started TOAD 8.6 >> login as SYS@SMEDB[/email]
4th -- Using the "Import Utility Wizard" under DBA Menu, I tried Importing the .dmp file.
5th -- From then onwards i am getting that the Import is successfull, but the tables are not getting reflected on the corresponding database.

This is the Log File after executing the Import Wizard:

Imported 1,000 rows
Import: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Wed Oct 7 20:16:03 2009

Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved.

Imported 2,000 rows
Connected to: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options

Export file created by EXPORT:V09.02.00 via conventional path

Warning: the objects were exported by SYSTEM, not by you

import done in WE8MSWIN1252 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set
import server uses WE8ISO8859P1 character set (possible charset conversion)
export client uses WE8ISO8859P1 character set (possible charset conversion)
Imported 3,000 rows
Import terminated successfully without warnings.

Now I have repeated the same, but no success.

Please gurus, help me out with this. I know this is something very tiny problem. But it has really made me go mad.

I am also attaching the .dmp file (as a txt file)
Please find the same.

Thanks a lot for your forthcoming response Smile

I am not familiar with TOAD import utilities or do care about it.
Just install a 9.2 client elsewhere and import (Oracle's imp tool) the dump.
Post the results.

If you meant the .dmp file that you are trying to load, it did not make it.
Be glad it did not make it.
Because You are tried to upload the dump file your client has sent to you.
It could cost your job.

Edit:
Removed the attached file.

If you've got no Oracle client software, where is your copy of TOAD getting it's TNSNAMES entries from?

Actually, I'm certain that you do have a client side install - I can't see TOAD writing software that returns Quote:
Import: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Wed Oct 7 20:16:03 2009

Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved.

I'm pretty sure that the Import Wizard is just running imp.exe in the background.

I presume you've double checked all your settings, and made sure that you're importing into the correct database and to the correct schema.

No success, but ?
What did happen? What message did you see?
Could it be that the ignore=yes was not set? (meaning that imp errors-out when it tries to create a table that already exists)

If you don't tell us what went wrong, we cannot help you.
