All,

I am Planning for Team DBA Training , and Now wondering which Version to choose from.

I was planning to propose Oracle Database 10g Express Edition for all member as it can be Loaded Easy on Home PC/Laptop ( without consuming lot many resources).

But looking at Oracle Database 10g Product Family comparison for FEATURE AVAILABILITY want your advice what is most suitable Product for Training for all which is

1/ Easy to get ( no licence issues ).
2/ Covers most of the features ( So all DBA Topics can be covered).
3/ Take Less resources.
4/ < Please Feel free to Add If I missed any >.

Any Bright Ideas/Suggestions Please to select Suitable version to cover all the DBA topics from Oracle Database 10g Product Family.

Regards,
Rahul

Prioritize your requirements, as they contradict.
All Oracle database editions are free for studying purposes.

You need to be careful with your licensing. For instance, it is illegal to install any edition of Oracle on PCs in a classroom, and run public courses. If it is your own staff, well, perhaps you can - but I would advise you to check with your Oracle account manager. You wouldn't want to be hit with license charges later on, and an email from Oracle saying "this is OK" will protect you against that.
There was a time when Oracle Corp busted companies offering training with illegal licenses and homemade course material, I think now they sometimes let them get away with it - but it isn't something you would want to have on your record.
(And by the way, I would use 11g. Why go back to 10g?)

That's why I put the first concern as above.

Just trying to get best advice from all of you as say XE takes less space on laptops to team members carrying laptop can opt for XE so they don't need to compromise on hungry resources..

Thank for Input John

Give them bigger laptops.
They will need them anyway to experiment; you cannot expect an 11G EE DBA to only have an XE version on his local machine.
