The LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 should point to primary server
LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 =  ''SERVICE=orcl ASYNC

Thanks for the reply, I'll update you in both cases , success or failure.

What if I add below mentioned parameters in pfile:

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1='LOCATION=F:\Oracle\flash_recovery_area\STAN\ARCHIVELOG
VALID_FOR=(ALL_LOGFILES,ALL_ROLES)
DB_UNIQUE_NAME=stand'

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2='SERVICE=ORCL LGWR ASYNC
VALID_FOR=(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE)
DB_UNIQUE_NAME=orcl'

Deepak

Hi Deepak,

If you decided to add those parameters in standby pfile, you should pre-create a pfile on standby database with all other neccessary parameters, then make a spfile from that pfile. Startup nomount standby database with the new spfile. Take out the SPFILE clause from DUPLICATE DATABASE command in this case (as SPFILE clause will tell the duplicate routine to copy primary spfile to standby system and modify the specified parameters)

RMAN> RUN
2> {
3> ALLOCATE AUXILIARY CHANNEL TEST1 DEVICE TYPE DISK;
4> ALLOCATE AUXILIARY CHANNEL TEST2 DEVICE TYPE DISK;
5> ALLOCATE CHANNEL ABC1 DEVICE TYPE DISK;
6> ALLOCATE CHANNEL ABC2 DEVICE TYPE DISK;
7> DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE
8> FOR STANDBY
9> FROM ACTIVE DATABASE
10> DORECOVER
11> NOFILENAMECHECK;
12> }

Regards
Luc
