Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle 11g R2 on Windows 7 professional at the time of database creation they give error.
ORA-12638:Credential retrival failed.


Please find herewith attached screenshot.

Did you check log file (at location specified on the screenshot)? What's in there?

Honestly, I've never seen anything like that. Googling suggests that people managed to "solve" the problem by setting
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NONE)

in SQLNET.ORA file. I have no idea whether it exists at this stage or not, but - I suppose it wouldn't cost much if you check it out and, possibly, set the value. Then start over again.

Thank you.
after setting the SQLNET.ORA value when I clicked the ignore Button then give the following error and exit.
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available



Any Suggestion.

I actually meant that you should restart the process, not just push the "Ignore" button.

Anyway, I'm not good at these things at all. Maybe it would be better if you wait for another, expert opinion.

Add one group ora_dba and add user

or you can also b do that just install software only after that create database using dbca.first just install oracle software only
