I have installed linux Rhel 5.1 on VMware.
I want to install rpm such setarch-2*....
I mount the cdrom with /mnt/cdrom....
but how i move to subfolder server because rpm cantain in server folder that is contain ...
when i writ cd /media/cdrom/server... it return erron no such directory.......
when i write cd /mdia/cdrom it is ok...but my problem to access server folder that coantain rpm.


Can any help me to tell step to installled rpm from cd rom on vmware installled linux

I don't know Linux so I can't help at all - sorry for that.

However, note that "Linux" under the OraFAQ forum means that problems which address issues with Oracle software running on different Linux operating systems should be discussed here. For genuine Linux problems, you should rather visit some other place (i.e. one of Linux forums).

You can use #cp source destination
to move the files ..
Or else you can use YUM installation to install the packages.
like ... #yum install rpm_package_name
because yum is the best option to install oracle related rpms because if the dependent package is missing for your
linux then the oracle yum automatically installs the dependent packages to you.
So to work with yum .. you have to configure it first.
