Hi,

We have migrated our database server from Physical machine to Virtual Machine (Oracle database 10g) and then upgraded the database from 10g to 11gR2.

We have observed that connection to database using sys user is taking very long time (more than 2 minutes). Other users dont have any issues.

Any thoughts please to fix this issue.

Thanks
Prashant

Just saying that you are facing issues after moving from physical to virtual will not help in detecting the issue. There are lot of hardware factors that are responsible for a perfect virtual environment.

I am not an expect in this area, but you can have a look at these points mentioned by Tim Hall, and then comeup with precise explanation of the issue : What's All This About Virtual Insanity
