How to ensure primary and standby database are in sync ?

You need to explain what it is that you do not understand. At moment, the only answer I can give is "To ensure they are in sync, configure Data Guard appropriately".

Hi John,

Unix team has done OS patching and we were part of it bringing database down and up after the patch.
After patching i need to ensure both primary and standby database are in sync.How to ensure that ?

Think, man. Provide some information. What is the problem? Why do you think there is a problem? How did you diagnose the problem? What errors are you getting?
