As Reports Builder told you, a group has to have at least one field.

It seems that you are a new Reports user. I'd suggest you to use Report Wizard to create reports. I've been working with that tool for a long time, and I can't remember that I ever did it manually. Why would I bother, when Wizard creates everything I need. Then it is a matter of redesigning it (moving objects here or there), but the majority is already done for me.

Well, there's nothing wrong in doing it manually (you might learn quite a lot if you take that approach), but it will take some time and effort.
