I know this may seem like a stupid question to most of
you but, could anyone help with my setup of toad. I
have downloaded it and used the key to activate it.

But I keep getting the following error
====
"Initialization error
Could not locate OCI dll"
=====

I have toad.exe in the c:/toad directory.

Do I have to install oracle or something. I work for a
company and we have numerous databases, and I want to
view and edit my tables in my account.

So has anyone any ideas?

Yes, I'm pretty sure you need Oracle installed on the machice using Toad. I believe Toad uses the same TNSNAMES.ora file (among others) from Oracle to connect.

Assuming that you have Oracle client installed on your PC, you may need to find a suitable dll. Using advice from www.toadsoft.com/faq2.html, I copied binOraClient9.dll into the same directory and renamed it Ora72.dll. Then TOAD worked OK.
Cheers, John
