Status change of a data file without achive log file [message #263338]

I'm unable to change the status of a data file from RECOVER to ONLINE. As I lost the relevant archive log, whicj is required for recovering the datafile. Any other option is there? Please HELP as I'm no able to upload data into the table without the data file. Though the data file contains ZERO data. Can I skip the file?

Put the datafile offline (if you can).
Export all data that are in the tablespace.
Drop and recreate the tablespace.
Import the data back.

if you have valid backup you can restore it or if you know the data of datafile then simply drop tablespace and recreate another.

If the datafile is offline then is it possible to export the data of that datafile?

Since the datafile is offline...it only exports the definitions of the objects present in the tablespace. object data is not exported.

I think Michel you wanted to mean the tablespace contains more than one datafile. and make a export of other datfile rather than which is offline or can you clarify it?

Yes this is what I wanted to say.
As OP said there are data in the tablespace but not in this datafile I assume there are other data files.
If not, he has to explain clearer his problem.
