Hello Oracle Gurus,

Can anyone tell me how an Oracle parameter can be deleted. For e.g there is a oracle parameter CPU_COUNT in our oracle database with the default value. It is niether in the pfile nor the spfile. This parameter has become obsolete as of Oracle 9i and should be deleted. How can it be deleted? Can anyone tell me the command please?

Regards,
Atul Lotlikar.

It is not obsolete and exists in all versions.
You MUST NOT set it, let it to its default value.
Remove it for your configuration file if it is there.

This does not make sense. How can you delete it if you never set it?
Why bother if it is obsolete?

[edit: ok, if it were obsolete; apparently it is not]
