Hi Experts,

Actually, I've gone through some topics in the forum relating to this but I am not satisfied enough.

Could you please if possible give me steps in migrating Oracle10g R1 on my Windos XP to Linux AS5 running Oracle10g R2.

Three basic steps :

- Install Oracle on Linux
- Create the target database and the table spaces
- Export from source / Import on target

Then you can continue with step2, creating an empty database, with the same tablespaces as the original one.

Additionally, you might want to look into transportable tablespace. I am not sure if it was 10g release 1 or 2 that allowed cross platform transportable tablespaces.
